Scott Sklar

Mr. Scott Sklar is an internationally recognized expert on renewable energy solutions. Scott is the founder and president of The Stella Group, Ltd. The Group facilitates clean distributed energy including advanced batteries and controls, energy efficiency, fuel cells, geo-exchange, heat engines, mini generation, micro hydropower, modular biomass, photovoltaics, small wind, and solar thermal and water energy. Scott is Chair of the Steering Committee of the Sustainable Energy Coalition and serves on the non-profit Boards of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy, the Renewable Energy Policy Project, and The Solar Foundation.

Previously, Scott has served as the Executive Director for both the Solar Energy Industries Association and the National Bio Energy Industries Association, as the Political Director of the Solar Lobby and alternatively as the RD&D and Washington Director at the National Center for Appropriate Technology. Scott served for nine years as an energy and military aide to Senator Jacob K Javits (NY) and was cofounder of the Congressional Solar Coalition.

Mr. Sklar is an Adjunct Professor who teaches a unique interdisciplinary course on Sustainable Energy at The George Washington University. He has two coauthored books, “A Consumer Guide to Solar Energy” and “The Forbidden Fuel: Power Alcohol in the Twentieth Century”.
